We pay for the gold in a piece. If a ring or necklace is set with diamonds or other stones, we don’t pay for the stones. We don’t buy gold-plated or gold-filled items.
How selling your gold works
- Walk in during store hours with your gold and a photo ID. No appointment is needed.
- We test the purity and weigh your gold with you, so you can see how we reach the number.
- We explain what it’s worth and make you an offer. Ask us anything. There’s no pressure to sell.
- If you decide to sell, we pay you by cash, check or ACH bank transfer.
What does the karat mean?
Karat tells you how much of a piece is pure gold. You’ll often find the stamp inside a ring or near the clasp of a chain. Here’s what the common stamps mean:
- 10k: about 41.7% gold
- 14k: about 58.3% gold
- 18k: 75% gold
- 22k: about 91.7% gold
- 24k: at or near pure gold

What determines what my gold is worth?
Mainly its purity and weight. Gold coins and some older pieces can also have collector value beyond their gold content, and we’ll tell you if we see that in yours.
Do I have to sell once it has been appraised?
No. If you’d rather keep it, take it home. There’s no obligation.
